Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Health, Safety & Quality Adviser to join our SHEQ team, providing an excellent career opportunity.
The Role
DL M&E Building Services Ltd is looking to recruit an organised, proactive and motivated Health, Safety & Quality Adviser to work alongside the SHEQ Manager in supporting and promoting the Company’s health, safety and quality management systems.
This is a varied role combining health and safety, quality assurance, compliance and operational support. The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of health, safety and quality responsibilities, including carrying out site inspections and audits, monitoring compliance, undertaking and supporting accident and incident investigations, reviewing documentation, maintaining management systems and driving continual improvement across the business.
The successful candidate will undertake health, safety and quality inspections independently, carry out internal ISO 9001 audits and become a trusted adviser to project teams on compliance, quality and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
- Advise project teams on health and safety compliance and best practice.
- Carry out health and safety inspections to monitor compliance with legal requirements, Company procedures and client standards.
- Undertake internal health and safety audits.
- Monitor and close out corrective actions.
- Review RAMS for suitability and completeness.
- Undertake and support accident, incident and near miss investigations, making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor PPE, plant, training and occupational health compliance.
- Produce inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify trends and opportunities for continual improvement.
Quality
- Carry out quality assurance inspections.
- Monitor snagging reports and verify that defects have been addressed and closed out in accordance with Company procedures.
- Verify quality documentation and inspection records.
- Develop and maintain quality procedures and inspection documentation.
- Support the Company’s ISO management systems and undertake internal ISO 9001 audits.
- Review handover documentation and quality records.
- Support project teams in achieving client quality requirements.
- Identify non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
- Promote continual improvement throughout the business.
About You
- Previous health, safety and quality experience, ideally within construction and building services.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to influence and build positive working relationships at all levels.
- Able to prioritise workloads and work independently.
- Able to prepare reports, procedures and process documentation.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willing to travel to project sites throughout the UK.
