The Opportunity
DL M&E are searching for an experienced Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to expand the current design capabilities of the business. The business has successfully secured further projects within the Office, Banking and Commercial Sectors which will require expanding our design team to accommodate these projects alongside other allocated works.
Role & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the design development of high-quality HVAC and Public Health systems to suit client and customer needs, working alongside the design engineers and operations teams to:
- Prepare documentation, schedules, drawings, etc as required through the RIBA work stages to suit Employers Requirements.
- Utilise industry approved methods to develop calculations and prepare reports for client approval.
- Interpret specifications to develop contractors’ proposals documentation and design drawings in line with client requirements.
- Assist the Junior and Intermediate engineers by providing technical support and advice.
- Assist operations and estimating teams by providing technical support and advice.
- Maintaining client relationships.
Ideal Experience
Experience within the design of high quality and complex full mechanical building services.
- Experience of developing designs throughout the RIBA Stages of Work (typically Stage 2 to 8)
- Experience liaising with clients and contractors.
- Capable and comfortable using own initiative and working under pressure
- An excellent ability to write their own reports.
- Excellent presentation, communication skills and time management.
- Experience with Hevacomp, MEPWorx, AutoCAD.
