DL M&E Building Services undertook the full design of the mechanical and electrical systems to RIBA stage 4
Project Profile – LDC Newcastle
LDC is the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group, founded in 1981. LDC work from a regional network of offices, ensuring the business is close to the management teams it invests in.
DL M&E Building Services undertook the design and build of the new corporate LDC office in Newcastle City Centre. New services were required throughout the building. DL M&E Building Services undertook the full design of the mechanical and electrical systems to RIBA stage 4. Air conditioning and ventilation systems were installed throughout the premise. The lack of space for the external condensers and the presence of asbestos within the risers presented challenges on this project, however, through close coordination with the main contractor, we were able to overcome all issues and deliver the project successfully. New domestic services were installed, serving the newly installed tea point area. A new LED lighting scheme throughout the floor space was developed and installed, in conjunction with the client’s specification.
New distribution boards were fitted, along with new power throughout. A new fire alarm system was also installed and commissioned, which was interfaced to the existing landlord’s system.
In addition, the project completed in March 2020, which was the year that Covid 19 caused major disruption to the country. DL M&E were able to successfully deliver the project. There were only minor changes to the programme of works due to the specific mitigations put in place by DL M&E Building Services, to keep all staff safe whilst working on site.
