Project Profile – Godiva Chocolate

Godiva Chocolatier is a purveyor of premium fine chocolates. It was founded in Belgium in 1926 and it is famous for its high-end luxurious products, which is reflected in its retail outlets throughout the world. In 2017 DL M&E Building Services undertook the mechanical and electrical design and installation for Godiva’s newly acquired store in The Bluewater Shopping Centre, Dartford.

DL M&E were responsible for the mechanical and electrical design which was undertaken in strict accordance with the landlord’s Tenant Fitout Guide. A short programme meant that chocolate was stored within the premises prior to the final handover of the project, therefore all air-conditioning services needed to be installed and commissioned in the early stages of the project.

New bespoke lighting was installed which represented the exclusive brand and provided good lighting with minimum heat output, maintaining the integratory of the chocolate. Throughout the store new power was installed to the front of house and back of house, which included a small office space and refrigerated storage. New air conditioning systems and new ventilation systems were installed, alongside new domestic services, which were installed to the back of house area.
